Police confiscate shotgun at neighborhood dispute
A verbal disturbance between neighbors ended with shots being fired after the parties had dispersed.
Shortly after 9 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 11, the Henry County Sheriff’s Department responded to a report of a verbal disturbance at the 2500 grid of Dakota Ave. The report also alleged that shots had been fired after the parties separated.
According to sheriff’s office officials, the shots were fired once the parties returned home from a roadside altercation. The officials said there was no indication that the shots were aimed at the other party, but rather intended as “an intimidation” and no direct threats with the weapon were issued.
Deputies on the scene confiscated a 12-guage shotgun from one of the parties involved and according to sheriff’s office officials, possible firearms possession charges may be pending and are determined on the outcome of the investigation.
Officials declined to release the names of the parties involved citing the recent move to the neighborhood of one of the individuals involved and the ongoing investigation.
