Land slides could impact four homeowners in Lowell area
Owners of the four houses along 320th Street south of Lowell may soon be the victims of three earth slides the county has been fighting in the area.
“One slide we’ve been working on probably since I’ve been here,” County Engineer Bill Belzer told the board of supervisors on Tuesday morning. He also noted that with one of the slides, the trees are even starting to move.
“We’re losing the battle,” said Belzer. While he is not taking any immediate action, he wanted to notify the supervisors of the situation. Soon he will be talking to the owners of the four houses located on that road.
The two options Belzer is considering are moving the road south or abandoning the road and paying damages to the homeowners.
