Alice F. Coleman
Alice F. Coleman, 84, formerly of Danville, died Thursday, Nov. 7, 2013, at the Henry County Health Center, Mt. Pleasant.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, Nov. 12, at Elliott Chapel, New London. The Rev. David Mixon will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant Grove Cemetery South, rural New London. Friends may call after noon on today, Nov. 11, at Elliott Chapel with the family greeting friends from 6 to 8 p.m. A memorial has been established to the New London Nursing and Rehab Center Activity Fund.
She was born Nov. 25, 1928, in Walnut, Kan., and was the daughter of Loren Ruben and Sadie Olive Goff Neal. On March 13, 1950, she married John Woodruff Coleman. He preceded her in death. She was a homemaker, a member of the Danville Baptist Church and a member of Gideons International.
She is survived by seven sons, Leroy Coleman of Mt. Pleasant, Cecil (Kathy) Coleman, Lester Coleman, Jeff (Margaret) Coleman, Rex Coleman, Doug (Jodie) Coleman, and Ruben (Cathy) Coleman, all of Danville; six daughters, Donna Shelangoski of Yellville, Ark., Becky (Jim) Fritz of Mt. Pleasant, Catherine (Steve) Ort and Linda (Greg) Mertens of New London, Janet (Mark) Wesely of Toledo, and Judy (Kerry) Kelly of West Burlington; 37 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and five sisters, Lillie Neal and Ruth Poole of Farmington, Mary Martin of Revere, Mo., Helen Lozano of Ft. Madison, and Joyce Barnes of Theodosia, Mo.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and one brother, Everett.
