Area museums observe Iowa Museum Week
Governor Terry Branstad has proclaimed June 9-16, 2013 as Iowa Museum Week.
The small museums of Henry County will observe Iowa Museum Week by being open June 8 from 1-4 p.m. ‘Wedding Dresses’ will be the theme with one or more dresses on display at each museum.
The county’s museums are as follows:
Dover Museum, 213 W. Main in New London; Harlan-Lincoln House, 101 W. Broad Street in Mt. Pleasant; Howard and Helen Hills Heritage Center, 203 N. White in Mt. Pleasant; Lewelling Quaker Museum, 401 S. Main in Salem; Swedish American Museum, 107 James Ave. in Swedesburg; Wayland and Midwest Memories, 217 W. Main in Wayland; and Winfield Museum, 114 S. Locust in Winfield.
Iowa’s museums are supported in their missions by the Iowa Museum Association.
