Area teams play Hall of Pride games
Canned goods will take the place of an admission fee at the Mt. Pleasant Community High School girls’ basketball games against Williamsburg on Friday, Nov. 16.
All three levels of girls’ basketball will be participating in the Hall of Pride scrimmage, a game granted to Iowa high schools that participate in a community project to help others.
The freshmen play at 6 p.m. at the middle school. At the high school, JV starts at 6:30 p.m., and varsity plays at 8 p.m.
Anyone school age and up will be admitted if they bring two or more canned goods to donate at the admission table. Otherwise, the normal admission fee will be charged. There will be no admission charge for the ninth-grade game.
The first official game for the Mt. Pleasant girls this season will be Tuesday, Nov. 20, at Muscatine.
The Winfield-Mt. Union boys play a Hall of Pride scrimmage at West Burlington on Saturday at 2 p.m. The WACO boys’ and girls’ teams host their Hall of Pride games against Washington on Saturday at 6 p.m.
