The Iowa Girls’ High School Athletic Union has made regional assignments for the girls’ golf teams.

Postseason information for Class 1A boys’ golf is also available.

The Mt. Pleasant girls’ golf team will be competing in its Class 4A Region 3 final on Monday, May 20, at the Edmondson Golf Club in Oskaloosa.

They will be playing against teams from Cedar Rapids Xavier, Centerville, Clear Creek-Amana, Fairfield, Keokuk, Knoxville, Oskaloosa, Pella, Solon and Washington.

The top two teams and top five individuals advance move on to the state tournament.

The girls’ state golf tournament for Class 3A and 4A will be held this year at Ames Golf and Country Club.

New London will be hosting Class 1A Regional 4A at Deerwood Golf Club.

The Winfield-Mt. Union girls’ team will also play at that regional, which will be on Monday, May 13.

Other teams attending will be Danville, Holy Trinity Catholic, Iowa Mennonite School, Lone Tree and Van Buren.

The top two teams and top five individuals move on to the Region 4 final at the Wapsi Oaks Country Club in Calamus on May 20.

From there, the top two teams and top five individuals advance to state. For Class 1A and 2A, the state tournament will be at American Legion Golf Course in Marshalltown.

In boys’ golf, New London will again be hosting — one of the sectional meets will be at Deerwood Golf Club at 10 a.m. on Friday, May 10.

Teams attending, along with New London, will be Winfield-Mt. Union, Danville, Holy Trinity Catholic, Ft. Madison, Keota, Maharishi (Fairfield), Sigourney and Van Buren (Keosauqua).

Teams and individuals advancing from this sectional will play their district meet at Pleasant Valley Golf Course in Iowa City on Thursday, May 16, at 9:30 a.m.

The district meet will be hosted by Lone Tree High School.

The boys’ state golf meet will be hosted by Linn-Mar High School at Hunters Ridge Golf Course in Marion.

In boys’ golf, the top two teams advance from each round, unless the host team is one of them — then the top three teams qualify. The top four individuals also advance; more than four advance in the case of a tie.
