Barbara Ann “Barb” Turner
Barbara Ann “Barb” Turner, 81, of Washington, died on Thursday, Feb. 16, 2017, at the Washington County Hospital.
Celebration of life services will be held at 1 p.m., on Monday, Feb. 20, 2017, at the First Christian Church, in Washington, with Rev. Colton Clay and Eva Bickhart officiating. Calling hours will begin at 11 a.m., on Sunday, Feb. 19, 2017 at the Jones and Eden Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 5:30 until 7 p.m. Interment will be held at Elm Grove Cemetery, in Washington.

Turner was born on June 28, 1935, in Washington, the daughter of Alvie and Laura (Snook) Harland. She graduated from Washington High School in 1953. She was united in marriage to John Clinton Turner on Jan. 13, 1954, in Washington.
She was a nurse’s aide at the Washington County Hospital for 14 years, and a secretary for the Department of Transportation for 16 years.
She had been a member of Berean Fellowship the First Christian Church.
She enjoyed traveling, knitting, painting, playing the piano and square dancing.
Turner is survived by her daughter, Cathy (Allen) Dobbins, of Sigourney; her son, Steven (Deb) Turner, of Washington; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a brother, Earl Malloy, of Keota; and a brother, Duane Malloy, of Alabama.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son, John Alvin Turner; one infant daughter; and eight brothers and sisters.
