Bears score nine in the first, roll 10-2
DANVILLE — Danville’s nine-run first inning decided this Southeast Iowa Superconference game early.
Stung by the Bear onslaught in the first, New London could not recover, dropping a 10-2 decision Monday evening.
The visiting Tigers scored single runs in the first and fifth innings, never getting it going offensively.
Hunter Moeller and Quincy Porter had two singles each for New London. Devon Smith and Mitch Boles chipped in with singles.
Jayden Flowers threw a complete game for the Tigers, allowing 10 hits, walking five and striking out two.
The loss left New London at 8-10 on the year. A trip to Van Buren awaits the team tonight with home contest against Mediapolis Wednesday and Harmony Thursday. All are conference games.
