Beverly J. Carver
Beverly J. Carver, 72, New London and formerly of Mt. Pleasant, Trenton and Lockridge, died Thursday, Aug. 29, 2013, at the Henry County Health Center Emergency Room, Mt. Pleasant, after being stricken at home.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 5, at the Kimzey Funeral Home, Mt. Pleasant. Friends may call from noon to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 4, at the Kimzey Funeral Home, Mt. Pleasant. The family will be present to receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service on Thursday

She was born Dec. 14, 1940, in Iowa City. She was the daughter of Raymond O. and Dorothy J. (nee Engle) Savage. She graduated from Lockridge High School. On August 16, 1959, she married Arnold LeRoy “Art” Carver, Sr. He preceded her in death.
From 1965-1968, she was employed at the Iowa Army Ammunition Plant in Middletown. She had worked at Alice Whaley’s Nursing Home in Mt. Pleasant and at the Cargill and Pioneer Seed Plants in Mt. Pleasant. She also worked as a bartender in Salem and Lockridge. In 1988, Beverly went to work for Heatilator in Mt. Pleasant. She retired in 1990. She also cleaned houses for several families.
She was of the Baptist Faith. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, New London Chapter #440 and the Women of the Moose in Mt. Pleasant. In hear spare time, she enjoyed bead craft work, creating doilies and playing cards. She enjoyed professional wrestling.
She is survived by her daughter, Lennette B. Carver of Mt. Pleasant; two granddaughters; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a son, Arnold L. Carver, Jr.; a daughter, Rhonda Carver; and three brothers, Donald G., Ronald D. and Bobby D. Savage.
