Big inning costs New London softball
WEST BURLINGTON — After three scoreless innings, the West Burlington softball team put nine runs on the board in the fourth, and that’s all they would need in a 9-1 conference win over New London on Monday.
The Tigers had three hits in the game, one each from Sami Koontz, Emily Parks and Victoria Noel.
Parks scored the team’s only run, batted in by Emma Pry.
Christner took the loss on the mound. She went six innings, giving up nine hits and nine runs (four earned). She walked one batter and struck out seven.
The Tigers are now 1-3 overall and 0-2 in the Southeast Iowa Super Conference South Division.
They host Danville tonight, starting with the JV game at 5:30 p.m.
