Chapter NZ of P.E.O. discusses Heritage Tour at Old Main
Chapter NZ of P.E.O. met Monday, June 9, at the Log Cabin in Saunders Park. Co-hostesses were Jan Rankin, Amy Pullis, Madison Pullis and Mary Shy.
Thirty members and two guests were present. President Connie Pedersen presided at the business meeting.
It was reported that Elizabeth Garrels will be contacting members about the preparing of the memory rooms in Old Main at Iowa Wesleyan College for the July 17 to 18 Heritage Tour of presidents and organizers across the nation and Canada.
Kathy Schimmelpfennig reported that the ways and means committee would be ready with sales table during the tour on July 17. Joyce Dennison introduced a B&B guest, Kim Rhodes, Chapter BH, from Medesto, Calif.
Vice-president, Betty Lowe, announced that the next meeting would be on June 23, in the home of Patty Madden at 10 a.m., with Carole Lauger, Mary Beth Young and Patti McClure serving as co-hostesses.
Madden, who will share about her recent trip to Ireland with her husband, will give the program. Car-pooling will be available at 9:30 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church east parking lot.
At the close of the meeting, Betty Lowe, delegate to the Iowa State Chapter P.E.O. Convention, gave her report. Lowe told of the business conducted, project luncheon and speakers, keynote address from International Chapter Organizer, Brenda Atchison, workshops, entertainment and acceptance remarks by newly installed Iowa State President, Liz Bunnell, Chapter OO, Fairfield.
At the close of the program, the co-hostesses served a “friendship salad” tossed together from a variety of ingredients brought by members.
Cookies and beverages accompanied the luncheon salad.
