Chapter NZ plans Festival of Lights
Chapter NZ of P.E.O. met, Monday Aug. 19, in the home of Joyce Dennison with Amy Lowe and Lea Bradley serving as co-hostesses. President Connie Pedersen presided at the business meeting. New member, Patty Madden, was introduced to the chapter.
Vice President Betty Lowe, announced the upcoming September meetings. A BIL picnic will be Sunday, Sept. 8, at 5 p.m. at the Garrels’ shelter house. Reservations for the picnic are to be made with Kathie McWhirter. Monday, Sept. 23, a meeting will be held at 1 p.m. in the home of Renee Davis with Connie Pedersen and Gayle Trede serving as co-hostesses. A program by Rev. Melisa Bracht-Wagner entitled “Sharing Our Blessings,” will be given.
Elizabeth Garrels announced that Iowa Wesleyan College President, Steve Titus, his wife, Sara and daugthers Emma and Lily have moved to Mt. Pleasant. Elizabeth invited members to a “meet and greet” reception for Sara Titus in Old Main on the I.W.C. campus, Saturday, Sept. 14, from 9:30 a.m. to 11: 30 a.m.
At the close of the meeting, Terry McWilliams, PR and marketing for Midwest Old Threshers, Alan Huisinga, development officer for Midwest Old Threshers and Melinda Huisinga gave a presentation about the planned Mt. Pleasant Festival of Lights beginning Nov. 21 and continuing select dates through Dec. 31. The display will be a planned mile route through the campgrounds of Midwest Old Threshers.
