Cold weather hinders search for missing MP woman
Recent cold weather has impeded the search for missing 44-year-old Mt. Pleasant woman Teresa Bruegge, according to Henry County Sheriff Rich McNamee.
Bruegge was reported missing Friday, Feb. 15. Her 1992 Dodge Grand Caravan was located at 9:51 a.m. at the end of a boat ramp at Faulkner’s Access on the Skunk River near Oakland Mills County Park.
The Henry County Sheriff’s Office, Henry County Conservation Department officials, Iowa State Patrol and Iowa Department of Natural Resources (IDNR) officers scoured the area but were unable to find Bruegge.
She is described as a 5-6 white female, weighing approximately 300 pounds and having a shaved head. She was last seen wearing blue shorts, a gray t-shirt, blue jacket and tan cap.
McNamee said the search was done with planes, boats and on foot. He added that the IDNR had planned to continue searching the Skunk River but that has become difficult during the past few days because of freezing temperatures.
Bruegge is originally from Fairfield and has family still living there.
Anyone with information about Bruegge is asked to contact the Henry County Sheriff’s Office at 319-385-2712.
