CRP informational program planned for May 8
The National Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) and Farm Service Agency (FSA) and their partner agencies will be conducting an informational meeting Wednesday, May 8, concerning the conservation reserve program (CRP).
The meeting will be at 11 a.m. at the Henry County Extension Office, 127 N. Main St., Mt. Pleasant.
Kevin Andersen, private lands biologist for the Iowa DNR, will give a presentation on mid-contract management of CRP acres.
Joe Portz, Henry County FSA executive director, will give an update on CRP eligibility requirements, and Dale Schmeiser, NRCS conservation technician, will answer any questions regarding seeding and planting operations.
Lunch will be provided by the Henry County Chapter of Pheasants Forever.
