Curt Fleig, 55, Mt. Pleasant, died of natural causes on Sunday, March 23, 2014.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 26, from 12 to 7 p.m. at Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel where the family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 27, at First United Methodist Church, with the Revs.Grady Miller and Deborah Stowers officiating. Burial will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorials have been established to Grace Community Friends Church and Camp Quaker Heights. Born Feb. 21, 1959, in Fairfield, he was the son of Delbert Ross and Marjorie Ann (Sents) Fleig. He was a 1977 graduate of Pekin-Packwood High School. He attended college at Friends Bible College in Haviland, Kan. On June 23, 1984, he married Jolene Marie Mitchell.
For 25 years, he worked at Cargill Seed Company. He was then employed by Metrogroup Corporation, and most recently, Walmart Distribution Center. He worked part-time for Leslie Heating and Cooling.
He enjoyed staying connected with his friends on Facebook, riding his morotcycle and tinkering in his garage. He also enjoyed mushroom hunting on the family farm.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Marcus Fleig of Coralville; a daughter, Kiersten (Kjtt) Fleig of Mt. Pleasant; his parents; two sisters, Carol (Grady) Miller of Independence, Kan. and Cindy (Steve) Hoeksema of Clive.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
