Daniel Joseph “Dan” Myers
Daniel Joseph “Dan” Myers, 58, of rural Mt. Hamill, died on Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2016, at his home.
Friends may call after noon on Friday, Dec. 2, 2016, at the Schmitz Funeral Home, in West Point, where the family will receive friends from 3 to 7 p.m., that evening. A parish rosary will be recited at 3:30 p.m., and a Christian wake service will be held at 7 p.m., at the funeral home. A memorial Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Saturday, Dec. 3, 2016, at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, in West Point, with Father Dennis Hoffman as celebrant. Burial will be at the Calvary Cemetery, in West Point.

Myers was born on Feb. 19, 1958, in Ft. Madison, the son of Charles and Darlene (Schwartz) Myers. He was a 1976 graduate of Marquette Catholic High School. On Feb. 15, 1992, he married Susan Witte, in West Point.
He worked as a carpenter and cabinet/furniture maker. He owned and operated Myers Cabinet Creations.
He was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, in West Point.
He enjoyed woodcarving, hunting, fishing, and following the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Myers is survived by his wife, Sue, of Mt. Hamill; two daughters, Katie (Eric) Gratz, of New London; and Kim (Brandon) Wilson, of Donnellson; one son, Eric (Kayla) Myers, of Donnellson; two grandsons; and two brothers, Hal (Anita) Myers, of St. Paul; and Gene (Kittie) Myers, of Farmington.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
