Danville nips W-MU baseball '9'
WINFIELD — The Winfield-Mt. Union baseball team lost to Danville on Wednesday by a narrow margin, falling in the nonconference contest by a score of 2-1.
The Bears scored first, tallying in the second inning. W-MU came back to tie it with a run in the third when Darren Hunter tripled and Kyle Davis hit a sacrifice fly to get Hunter across the plate.
Danville had the last word, however, scoring once more in the sixth for the win.

Sam Jennings was 2-for-4, while Lucas Rappenecker, Ryan Nelson and Jacob Arnold had one hit each.
Christian Fenton was on the mound and took the loss. He gave up three hits and two walks for two runs (one earned). He struck out six in the complete-game effort.
W-MU is now 6-13 overall and remain 5-11 in the conference.
Up next for the Wolves is a home game tonight (Friday) against Cardinal, starting with the JV game at 5:30 p.m. They continue their homestand on Monday against Central Lee, and that will also be a JV/varsity doubleheader starting at 5:30 p.m.
