Deputies break up fight, bust party
Henry County Sheriff deputies had a busy July 4th weekend, breaking up a fight in Lowell and busting an underage drinking party on Kentucky Avenue.
Deputies were summoned to Stevenson Park in Lowell at 3:31 p.m. July 4 due to an alleged fight between two males.
According to the sheriff’s report, Micah Hummel, 25, Lowell, and Zachary Burden, 25, Mt. Pleasant began fighting after an argument that occurred as they were coming into the park from an afternoon of floating on the Skunk River.
The incident remains under investigation.
Deputies were notified on July 5 at approximately 10 p.m. of an underage drinking party occurring in the 1100 grid of Kentucky Avenue.
An investigation into this resulted in the following people being citied for possession of alcohol under legal age: Tessa Shipley, 20, What Cheer; Blake Bayliss, 20, Keota; Katelynn Moss, 19, Lone Tree; Haley Brenneman, 19, Ames; Gabrielle Bethke, 19, Cedar Rapids; Hanna Brenneman, 20, Keota; Parker Turner, 19, Washington; and Jesse Kleopfer, 19, Riverside.
The Iowa State Patrol assisted at the scene.
