Deputies investigate two accidents within the county
Henry County Sheriff deputies investigated a pair of accidents in the past several days.
The sheriff’s office received a report Nov. 13 from the Henry County Health Center that a patient had just been admitted into the emergency room and said she had been in a vehicular accident.
Upon investigation, it was found that Amanda Jean McLain was driving a blue 1999 Ford southbound in the 2400 grid of Quaker Avenue. Reportedly, McLain hit a patch of loose gravel, lost control and rolled the vehicle into a farm field in the ditch on the east side of Quaker Avenue.
McLain was cited for failure to maintain control. Breuer’s Tow Service removed the vehicle from the scene.
A two-vehicle accident at the intersection of U.S. Highway 218 and Salem Road was reported Nov. 10.
An investigation revealed that Randi Danielle Hardy, of Kahoka, Mo., was driving a 2005 Chevrolet and rear ended a 2014 Volkswagen, driven by Nelson Earl Beachy, of Kalona.
Hardy was cited for failure to provide poof of liability. The Hardy vehicle was towed and Nelson was able to drive his vehicle from the scene. Newberry Inc. removed Hardy’s vehicle from the scene.
A criminal charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
