Donna Kaye DeVore Morris, 60, of San Antonio, Texas, died Saturday, April 12, 2014, in Northeast Baptist Hospital.
Private funeral services will be held. The family requests that memorial donations be made to Damon Morris, memo: Donna Morris Memorial, Federation Bank, 122 East Washington St., Brighton, IA 52540.
She was born Sept. 12, 1953, in Biloxi, Miss. She married Brian Morris in 1971. The couple later divorced.
She worked at the Iris Restaurant and Maple Leaf Manor. She attended the San Antonio College of Medical and Dental Assistants, graduating in 2001 and was certified with the America Association of Medical Assistants. She continued to work as a Certified Nursing Assistant and was self-employed selling antiques until 2014. She enjoyed Southern life, her pets, cooking, antiques and art, going to the races, spending time with Tennis on their ranch and caring for others in need.
She is survived by her life partner, Tennis Kidd of San Antonio, Texas; one daughter, Heather Morris Anderson of Washington; one son, Damon (Tammy Boshart) Morris of Brighton; three grandsons of Washington; and eight siblings, Richard DeVore of Slocum, Ala., Debra Simmons of San Antonio, Texas, Deana Buck of Olds, John DeVore Jr. of New London, Darla Morris of Mt. Pleasant, Linda Ferguson of Wapello, Earl DeVore of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Merle Bickett of Wapello.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John Sr. and Bernice DeVore.
