Driver involved in accident turns himself in
A male turned himself in to the Mt. Pleasant Police Thursday for his involvement in a hit and run incident yesterday morning, according to Lt. Lyle Murray of the department. Murray said he could not release the name of the individual.
According to a release from the department, a newer model, candy-apple-red Ford F-150 pickup allegedly struck a pedestrian, Bethany Knudsen, in the Jefferson/Monroe streets intersection crosswalk at approximately 8:40 a.m.
The truck, the report said, then left the scene southbound on Jefferson Street.
Knudsen was transported by private vehicle to the Henry County Health Center for treatment of injuries sustained in the accident.
