Edward G. Frank
Edward G. Frank, 88, Oakville, died Thursday, April 25, 2013, at his home under the care of Great River Hospice.
Friends may call from noon until 6 p.m. Sunday, April 28, at Lunning Chapel where the family will receive friends from 4 until 6 p.m. The family will also receive friends from 9 until 9:45 a.m. Monday prior to the time of service.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday, April 29, at Oakville-Mediapolis Apostolic Christian Church of Mediapolis with the ministers of the Church officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established for the Mediapolis and Danville Fire Departments.
Born April 6, 1925 in Oakville, he was the son of John and Rose Vierling Frank. On March 4, 1950, he married Delores “Dee” Moherman in Burlington. She preceded him in death.
He was an Army veteran of World War II, serving in the Pacific Theatre, Philippines and Japan. He was a Huron High School graduate, who farmed all his life. He attended Oakville-Mediapolis Apostolic Christian Church of Mediapolis. He was a member of the Des Moines County Swine Association, Des Moines County Fair Board, V.F.W. and the Moose Lodge. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling and golfing.
Survivors include three brothers, John Frank of Mt. Pleasant, Norman Frank of Oakville and Kenneth Frank of Waynesboro, Virginia; three sisters, Evelyn Schmidt of West Bend, Ruth Pflederer of Tremont, Ill. and Betty Frank of Nashville, Tenn.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one brother and one sister.
