Fans get driver autographs at 34 Raceway
WEST BURLINGTON – Four classes of cars took to the track on Saturday at 34 Raceway, with three of the four classes seeing first-time winners for the 2013 season.
Race fans were also able to participate in an on-track autograph session meeting with the drivers.
Jay Johnson of West Burlington (UMP Late Models), Creston Williams of Atkins (IMCA Sport Mods) and Mike Weikert, Jr., of Muscatine (IMCA Modifieds) all picked up first wins, while Wayne Noble of Wapello won his second Four Cylinder feature this season at 34 Raceway.
Coming up this Saturday, Aug. 17, will be the Night of the Twins, featuring the Brockway Mechanical and Roofing Sprint Invaders 360 Sprints. Also on the card is the UMP Late Models, I Connect You/Louisa Communications Four Cylinders and Mod Lites.
Saturday, Aug. 24, will be Fan Appreciation Season Championship night with final point races for all six classes. 4-H members who wear their green 4-H shirts will be admitted free to the grandstands. Check out www.34Raceway.com for more information.
