Fern Lucille Schlarbaum Stout
Fern Lucille Schlarbaum Stout, 90, Danville, died Sunday, Nov. 11, 2012, at the Danville Care Center.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, Nov. 16, at Elliott Chapel, New London. The Rev. Doug Cue will officiate. Burial will be in Long Creek Cemetery. Visitation will begin after 9 a.m. Friday, with the family greeting friends from 1 to 2 p.m. A memorial has been established to the Danville Methodist Church and the Danville Library.
She was born Sept. 29, 1922, in Driggs, Idaho the daughter of Archie L. and Jessie Mae Hall Schlarbaum. On Nov. 8, 1940 she married Claude Jackson “Jack” Stout, on Fern’s family farm north of Danville. He preceded her in death.
She was a homemaker and did clerical work for Emerson Electronics in Mt. Pleasant and Lehigh Leopold in Burlington. She was a 1940 graduate of Danville High School.
She was a member of the Danville Methodist Church where she was the organist. She was also a former member of the Batavia Methodist Church and Danville Eastern Star. She enjoyed music, sewing and being home with her children.
She is survived by three daughters, Cindy Davisson of Cedar Rapids, Susie Stout of Broad Run, Va., and Mary Lee Zapor of Rockville, Md.; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; one daughter, Shirley Diane Stout; one son, Gary Stout; two brothers and three sisters.
