Florence Weiss, 101 Donnellson, died Saturday, Oct. 5, 2013, at her home.
Friends may call Monday after 1 p.m. at the Schmitz-Lynk Funeral Home in Donnellson with the family meeting friends from 5 to 7 Monday evening.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 8, at St. Peter’s United Church of Christ in Franklin with the Rev. Mike Bennett officiating. Burial will be in the St. Peter’s Cemetery near Franklin.

Born May 9, 1912, near West Point, she was the daughter of Fred and Catherine Schneider Timpe. On Feb. 16, 1939, she married John Weiss Jr. He preceded her in death.
She was a member of the St. Peter’s United Church of Christ in Franklin, where she was a member of the Women’s Guild, the Hope Circle and C.H.I.U. She volunteered for 30 years as the superintendent of the Art Hall at the Lee County Fair. She was a St. Louis Cardinals fan and Iowa Hawkeye Basketball fan.
She enjoyed sewing, cooking and spending time with family and friends.
Survivors include three daughters, Delores Harnisch of Buffalo Grove, Ill., Gladys Enslow of Olds and Christine (Mark) Joyner of Cedar Rapids; 10 grandchildren, Diane (Rob) Horne, Debra Harnisch, Donna Harnisch, Ann (Steve) Ross, Michele (Mitch) Phillips, Joleen (Mike) Zentfeld, Jason (Autumn) Weiss, Matt (Lindsay) Weiss, Amanda Joyner and Lauren Joyner; and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her son Philip Weiss; and one sister Viola Brandt.
