Gladys Irma Daniel
Gladys Irma Daniel, 91, of Atlantic, passed away Thursday, January 12th, 2017.
Gladys was born on December 5, 1925 in Sumner, IA, the daughter of Louis and Emma Preibe Dreier. Gladys was baptized and confirmed at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Sumner. She married Raymond Daniel in Reno, Nevada on December 6, 1946. She worked at the Mental Health Institute in Independence and Mt. Pleasant, Iowa for thirty five years before retiring in 1990. She then traveled to Arizona to visit her daughter, Annette Davis and to Oklahoma to visit her son, Rocky Daniel for several years. In 1996, she moved to Atlantic because of health reasons and to be near her daughter “Dee” Fredericksen and her husband Roger. Gladys’ greatest joys in life were visiting with family or receiving phone calls from out of town loved ones. Gladys will be remembered for her witty sense of humor, her strength and gentle loving heart. Playing cards was a favorite pastime of hers but anyone who played with her knew to watch her carefully.
