Glen M Seberg
Glen M Seberg, 93, of Mt. Pleasant, died on Friday, Dec. 16, 2016, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, in Iowa City.
Visitation will be held from noon to 7 p.m., on Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2016, at Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m., that evening. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., on Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2016, at Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel, with Rev. Jim Stiles and Rev. Jeff McPheron officiating. Burial will be in Finley Cemetery. Seberg was born on the family farm, in rural Swedesburg, on Oct. 6, 1923, the son of Roy and Fannie McPheron Seberg. He attended Union #9 Country School and was a 1940 graduate of Olds High School. On March 20, 1944, he married Louise Honora Fenton at Olds Congregational Church.
He served in the United States Navy Air Force during World War II. He was honorably discharged in 1946, and returned to farming with his brother, and later his son.
He enjoyed spending time with his family and attending the Midwest Old Threshers Reunion.
He was a member of Finley Chapel.
Seberg is survived by his wife, Louise; a son, Duayne (Cindy) Seberg, of Mt. Pleasant; a daughter, Joyce (Ron) Deck, of Moberly, Mo.; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Carl Seberg; and four sisters, Zola Swarts, Izyel Waterhouse, Wanda Miller, and Erma Erickson.
