Glenn Lee Roby
Glenn Lee Roby, 86, of Torrance, Calif., and formerly of the Douds-Selma area, died on Friday, Nov. 11, 2016.
A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Friday, Nov. 18, 2016, at Mt. Moriah Cemetery, in Douds, with military honors by John Hyson Reneker, Post No. 494, American Legion, of Douds. A private memorial will be held in Torrance, Calif., in December.
Memorials to the Alzheimer’s Association may be left at the cemetery or mailed to the family at 1385 Bison Ridge Drive, Colorado Springs, Colorado 90919.
Roby was born on Sept. 16, 1930, in Ottumwa, the son of Glenn D. and Naomi Kincaid Roby. He served in the U.S. Army and saw combat in the Korean Conflict. As a civilian, he worked as an engineer for McDonnell Douglas Aircraft. After a brief marriage to Barbara Wilcox, he married Pauline Pearl Andruschak in 1971.
He enjoyed traveling, fishing, hunting, model railroads, playing blackjack, off-roading, and gadgets.
Roby is survived by five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Pauline; his step-mother, Ethel Roby; and a granddaughter.
