Good synonym for integrity is honesty

To the editor:

“According to Scripture, virtually everything that truly qualifies a person for leadership is directly related to character. It’s not about style, status, personal charisma, clout or worldly measurements of success. Integrity is the main issue that makes the difference between a good leader and a bad one.” — John MacArthur.

I find it easier to trust others when honesty and integrity are present in their life. I’m thankful for discernment. I know it as that gut feeling when the Holy Spirit alerts me to something. The Holy Spirit will lead you into all truths, will direct your steps and also help you and I to make wise decisions.

Based on all the facts that have so far been presented to you and me, though the news and especially IntegrityWatchMP.com., it was a resounding no to the bond referendum. And this was not to be a no, not ever vote.

Throughout history, empires have toppled their foundations crumbled to the ground. And in witnessing throughout my life, the falling of businesses, families, corporations, etc., the lack of honesty and integrity were the main culprit so many people entrusted their lives and future to. And we all know, this has caused much division in our communities as well.

It’s very evident and I have felt and sensed the tension for sometime now. Building a strong and thriving community takes great effort with all of us working together. And building it with honesty and integrity which is and should be a solid-rock foundation, produces great rewards for it to be and remain successful. Can I get an Amen?

I urge you to please remain patient and trust that God is working behind the scenes on this one, too. All hope is not lost for the welfare of our children and communities. This is just another temporary setback. I encourage you to remain steadfast in prayer, thanking God for His blessing.

In closing, I would like to share with everyone that I have made Mt. Pleasant my home since 1974. My daughter, Krystal, and son, Michael, grew up and graduated from here. The past several years I had chosen to relocate twice, to move out of state, only to return to Mt. Pleasant. I was drawn to come back home to a wonderful community with family And friends and my home church of 32 years.

Just recently my daughter informed her immediate family, that after being gone for 16 years now, she is coming home. Mt. Pleasant is gaining another family and our school district is gaining two students. And how awesome it was to have her inform me in a letter that she has always remained hopeful to have her sons graduate from Mt. Pleasant. It has been a desire of hers for many years now. This should be encouragement to all of you to know how painful And sentimental many of us are of the community in which we reside.
