The Henry County Conservation Department has received a mini grant award of $300 from Humanities Iowa, a state-based affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities, in support of their project called “Country School: One Room, One Nation, Kelly and Tammy Rundle.”
The project “Country School: One Room, One Nation” is a resource for one-room schoolhouse preservation.
The project, which is based off the documentary “Country School: One Room, One Nation,” that was completed Kelly and Tammy Rundle, helps to generate interest in saving one-room schoolhouses across the nation.
A special Henry County Conservation screening of the Emmy-nominated documentary “Country School: One Room, One Nation” will be held at the Oakland Mills Nature Center, 2593 Nature Center Drive, Mt. Pleasant on Sept. 17.
The program begins at 7 p.m. with a discussion with filmmakers Kelly and Tammy Rundle following. This event is free to the public.
