Greene leads WACO runners at Van Buren
KEOSAUQUA — The WACO cross-country runners competed at the Van Buren Invite on Tuesday, where they were led by Jennie Greene’s top-10 finish.
Greene placed ninth of 40 runners in the Class A girls’ race with a time of 19:16.
Cheyenne Sedlacek was 25th with a time of 21:56, and Michaela Shaffer came in 37th at 26:37.
On the boys’ side, Dillon Douglas placed 34th with a time of 22:03, followed by Trevor Lynn in 45th with a time of 24:16.
Neither WACO team had enough runners for a team score.
Next up for the Warriors is a meet at English Valleys on Tuesday.
Another runner who competed at the Van Buren Invite was Winfield-Mt. Union’s Kohlton Heinzel, whose name was left off the list sent to the Mt. Pleasant News. Heinzel placed 20th in the Class A boys’ race and ran a time of 20:41.
