Guided youth pheasant hunt planned
A guided youth pheasant hunt is being offered in Louisa County on Saturday, Oct. 19, from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m.
Youth must have a hunter safety certificate and be between the ages of 12-15 to participate.
The free program will include a trap shoot at the Louisa County Gun Club near Morning Sun and a guided pheasant hunt. Participants can also expect sessions on gun handling, overall safety while hunting, dog handling, wildlife identification, gun cleaning and game cleaning.
Students should not bring guns or ammunition – everything will be provided for the day; including a blaze orange vest and hat, lunch and snacks.
Pre-registration is required, there is a limited space.
