Herbert Charles Hult
Herbert Charles Hult, 87, Mt. Pleasant, died Saturday, April 12, 2014, at Arbor Court in Mt. Pleasant.
Funeral services at the Swedesburg Lutheran Church with burial at the Swedesburg Church Cemetery are being planned for a later date.
Memorials have been established for the Swedesburg Lutheran Church, the American Swedish Museum, American Cancer Society and the Henry County Relay for Life.
Honts Funeral Home in Winfield is in charge of the arrangements.
The son of Albert and Anna (Hultman) Hult, he was born March 13, 1927, at Swedesburg. On March 15, 1952, he married Esther Holt. He was a graduate of the Olds High School. He served in the U.S. Navy and retired after 20 years of service. He worked as a Henry County Assessor in the 1950s, served as secretary for Old Threshers for 16 years, and was a member of the Henry County Historic Preservation Commission. He also was a member of the Swedish Heritage Society and a member of the Olds American Legion. He was a member of the Swedesburg Evangelical Lutheran Church. He was a farmer in the Swedesburg community.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Dennis Hult of Mt. Pleasant and David Hult of Rochester, N.Y.; six grandchildren; two sisters, Vivian Carlson and Genevieve Anderson both of Davenport;
He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Annette Ginsberg; two brothers, Frederick and LaVerne; and two sisters, Margaret and Inez.
