High school evacuated
Faculty members, students and employees at Mt. Pleasant Community High School received a 90-minute break from classes this morning. According to “scanner chatter,” a bomb-sniffing dog was brought in from another county to aid in the investigation. While students were shivering in the cold, top photo, the entrance and exit road to the high school was blocked by law enforcement vehicles. The building was evacuated at approximately 9:20 a.m. and students and staff were allowed to re-enter the building shortly before 11 a.m. Superintendent Dr. John Roederer was not available for comment prior to press time.
