With another school year almost complete, the Hillsboro Public Library director, Casey Lefflel, is preparing for the upcoming summer reading program at the library.
Watch for notices in the Hillsboro News, posters around town or a postcard in the mail announcing the 2013 Hillsboro Public Library’s annual summer reading program kick-off.
If you are not a patron of the library, new in town or just have not visited the library for a few years you may want to stop by and fill out an application for a library card or renew the one that has been in your wallet for the last several years.
Remember it does not cost to have a library card or to check out some of the great books or movies that are sitting on the shelves as long as you return them before the due date.
If you cannot make it to the library to return the books or movies you borrow during the library hours you can drop them off in the drop box at the east driveway of the library’s parking lot or give Casey a call at 319-253-4000 and ask him to renew the books or movies.
The library hours are Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 3:30 to 6 p.m. and Saturdays 9 to 11 a.m.
Here are some of the new donations on the Hillsboro Public Library shelves:
Adult fiction: “A Gentleman Always Remembers” by Candace Camp, “Scandalous Deception” by Rosemary Rogers, “Kiss and Tell” by Suzanne Brockmann, “In Scandal They Wed” by Sophie Jordan and “The Handmaiden’s Necklace” by Kat Martin.
Adult fiction in large print: “The Looking Glass” by Richard Paul Evans.
If you have any family or community news that you would like published in the Hillboro News, please email or call by Sunday at 5 p.m.
