Santa and Mrs. Claus are coming to Hillsboro on Saturday, Dec. 21, at the Hillsboro Community Center from 9-10:30 a.m. The Hillsboro City Council is sponsoring this event and will be serving breakfast to anyone in the community who would like to come and enjoy pancakes and sausage with Santa and Mrs. Claus. Rudolph will be accompanying Santa and Mrs. Claus this year.
The Hillsboro Public Library is once again proud to provide refreshments for the Monday, Dec. 23, Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center's Blood Drive at the Hillsboro Community Center from 3:30-5 p.m. To schedule an appointment visit www.bloodcenter.org, click on "Impact" and follow the onscreen instructions if you are already a MVRBC blood donor or not yet a MVRBC blood donor. If you do not have internet access call 800-747-5401 x119. Online scheduling is not available 72 hours prior to blood drive. Drop-in donors are always welcome.
To donate you need to weigh at least 110 pounds and be 17 years old. However, 16 year olds can also give if a parent signs a permission waiver. There is no upper age limit. We sincerely appreciate every donor who comes out to support our local blood drive. MVRBC is the provider of life-saving blood products to most hospitals in the area. They rely on volunteer donors to supply the tremendous needs of our families, friends and neighbors.
