On Saturday, May 4, the city will be collecting tires from 8 to 10 a.m. behind the Hillsboro Community Center for all city residents. Remember, WEMIGA Waste can’t haul away your tires, but the city will.
There is a limit of eight tires per household.
Following the tire pick up, volunteers are needed. So come one, come all to walk the town from 10 a.m. to noon and pick up trash along the streets and ditches within the Hillsboro city limits.
Lunch will be served to the volunteers who help make Hillsboro a clean and tidy town. It’s a great opportunity to earn volunteer time for all the youth working on silver cord hours.
Here are some of the new donations on the Hillsboro library shelves:
Adult fiction: “Killing Me Softly” by Nicci French; “Too Hot To Handle” and “Total Surrender,” both by Cheryl Holt; “The Gentle Rebel” by Gilbert Morris and “Three Weddings and a Giggle” by Liz Curtis Higgs, et. al.
If you have any family or community news that you would like published in the Hillboro News, please email or call by Sunday at 5 p.m.
