Holy Trinity inducts new Honor Society members
The National Honor Society of Holy Trinity Catholic Schools conducted their annual Thanksgiving Mass on Nov. 25.
This year’s mass included a special celebration of inducting the new members for the current 2013-2014 school year. Kristen Tinguely, NHS President, began the mass with an introduction reminding the HTC student body to “Give Thanks” for the many blessings in their lives. Fr. Mark Spring presided over the mass with Angela Bentler, Alisha Saathoff and Cayla Pieper, reciting the readings and the responsorial psalm.
Deacon Greg Golemo continued with the Gospel and Fr. Spring with the homily. Other participants in the mass included: Prayers of the Faithful read by Jena Vonderhaar and Maria Vonderhaar; Presentation of Gifts to the Alter were Dylan Menke, Nick Krone and Ben Votroubek. Fr. Spring was assisted by Angela Bentler and Deacon Golemo in distributing communion to the students, family members present and the faculty and servers included Luke Fullenkamp, Tyler Delaney and Zach Taylor.
At the end of mass, members of the NHS – Alisha Saathoff, Cayla Pieper, Ben Votroubek and Adam Stewart read the four cardinal principles – scholarship, service, leadership and character.
Roll call of the old members and the induction of the new members were read by the NHS advisor, Kathy Steffensmeier. Inductees received their certificates from Chuck Elbert, Principal and NHS President, Kristen Tinguely. All members of the society recited the NHS pledge.
This fall 15 new members were selected to be inducted.
To conclude the day’s celebration of thanks and the induction of new members, the NHS distributed cookies to the students during the lunch period.
