IGHSAU releases postseason information
The Iowa Girls’ High School Athletic Union has released the postseason information for girls’ tennis.
Information for postseason boys’ tennis, boys’ golf and track and field has also been released.
In girls’ tennis, Mt. Pleasant will be traveling to Davenport Assumption for its Class 1A Region 7 singles and doubles tournament on May 16 at 9 a.m.
The Panthers will be competing against Burlington Notre Dame/West Burlington, Camanche, Davenport Assumption, Ft. Madison, Holy Trinity Catholic, Keokuk and Maharishi (Fairfield).
The boys’ tennis Class 1A district tennis tournament will be Thursday, May 9.
The Panthers will compete at Maharishi in Fairfield against the host school, along with Centerville, Davis County (Bloomfield), Fairfield, Ft. Madison, Keokuk and Burlington Notre Dame.
Mt. Pleasant will be hosting the Class 3A District 4 track and field state qualifier on Thursday, May 9, at 4 p.m.
Teams attending will be Davenport Assumption, Centerville, Clear Creek-Amana, Fairfield, Ft. Madison, Keokuk and Washington.
In Class 1A, the track and field teams from WACO, Winfield-Mt. Union and New London will all be competing at the state qualifier at Highland in Riverside at 4 p.m. on May 9.
For boys’ golf, the Class 3A sectional will be Friday, May 10, and Mt. Pleasant will be traveling to compete at The Preserve at Lake Rathbun.
The meet is hosted by Centerville. Other team playing will be Albia, Chariton, Fairfield, Ft. Madison, Keokuk and Oskaloosa.
Teams and individuals advancing from the sectional will play at the district meet at Stone Creek Golf Club on Friday, May 17 at 10 a.m. That meet will be hosted by Williamsburg.
