Iowa Association for Justice installs new officers
The Iowa Association for Justice (IAJ) installed new executive officers and members of its Board of Governors during its annual convention (Nov. 10-11) in Des Moines.
IAJ’s newly installed leaders will serve the 2016-2017 term. IAJ also honored its 2016 award winners.
Danny Cornell, of Mt. Pleasant, was elected from Judicial Subdistrict 8B.
IAJ’s Justice In Deed initiative connects trial attorneys with community organizations across Iowa to help meet critical needs. The association’s Justice In Deed partner for this Annual Convention was the Des Moines Area Religious Council (DMARC) food bank. The DMARC Food Pantry Network is health-based and is the largest food pantry network in Iowa.
During the Annual Convention trial lawyers contributed over $6,800 to support DMARC.
“The DMARC food pantry is a fantastic organization, and we love working with them. This was one of the most successful community support drives we’ve had since we started our Justice In Deed initiative eight years ago,” said IAJ president Tim Bottaro.
Headquartered in Des Moines, the Iowa Association for Justice is an organization of approximately 700 Iowa trial attorneys who fight for justice in courtrooms and communities across the state.
The Association serves the legal profession and the public through its efforts to strengthen our justice systems, promote injury prevention, and foster the transparency of information critical to the health and safety of all Iowans.
