Iowa retail gasoline prices continue downward trend
Retail gasoline prices in Iowa averaged $3.41 per gallon today, according to a survey of over 2,000 Iowa gas stations by Iowa State Gas Prices.com.
The lowest price for gasoline was in Marion at $3.13 per gallon while a Cedar Rapids’ outlet had gas at $3.15 a gallon. Conversely, the highest gasoline price was in Keokuk at $3.77 per gallon.
Today’s retail price of $3.41 per gallon is 2.5 cents per gallon lower than prices on July 1 and 32.2 cents per gallon lower than one month ago. The average gasoline price in Iowa on July 8, 2012, was $3.38.9 per gallon.
Nationally, retail gasoline prices averaged $3.49 per gallon today, compared with $3.50 a week ago. The national average was $3.64 per gallon one month ago and $3.41.8 one year ago.
According to GasBuddy.com., Iowa retail gasoline prices are expected to continue dropping over the short term.
