Iowa Sports & Life to feature Stutzman
BOONE — The seventh installment of Iowa Sports & Life will air in five Iowa TV markets during the weeks of August 19 and 26.
This installment features Matt Stutzman of Fairfield, who was a 2012 Silver Medalist at the Paralympics Archer in the London Games.
A silver medalist in archery at the 2012 Paralympics of the London Olympics, Stutzman was born without arms, but uses his feet to compete. A major London newspaper called him, “the most extraordinary athlete in the 2012 Olympic Games.” He is currently preparing for the 2016 Paralympic Olympic Games in Brazil.
Others featured are Chad Greenway, University of Iowa All American who plays for the Minnesota Vikings; the unusual father-son, coach-player Division I combo of Creighton University’s Greg and Doug McDermott; professional golfer Zach Johnson from Cedar Rapids; and Lieutenant General Michelle Johnson from Spencer, whose life in education and athletics has led to exemplary military service and to Johnson becoming the first woman to be superintendent of the Air Force Academy.
The feature is a production of Thompson Sports, LLC in Des Moines and is endorsed by Iowa's four activities organizations, including the IHSAA and IGHSAU. Iowa Sports & Life Heroes are also shown at the Iowa Hall of Pride in Des Moines, in a special display area, running continuously during open hours.
