CLINTON — The Iowa Wesleyan track and field teams competed at the Ashford Spring Classic on Saturday, where the Tiger men took home three individual event titles on the day.

Jake Ayers set a personal best by 16 seconds in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, running 10:34.42 to take the win. That time ranks third on the all-time list at IWC.

Harris then came back just 15 minutes later and won the 400-meter dash in 50.13 seconds.

Michael Klostermann won the 400-meter hurdles, crossing the line in 56.51 seconds.

His personal best of 56.40 set last week ranks him No. 1 in the conference so far this season as well.

The men's 4x400-meter relay, currently ranked No. 1 in the conference, finished second on Saturday. The Tiger team of Harris, Raul Becceril, Duane Lee and Klostermann ran 3:25.56, just off the relay’s season-best time of 3:25.10.

Overall, the IWC men scored 73 points to finish in fifth place, while the women scored six points to take seventh.

On the women's side, C.J. Strother scored all six points for the Tigers. Strother finished fifth in the shot put with a throw of 33-6 3/4. She then took seventh in the discus with a personal best of 94-1.
