Items sought for annual peanut auction
The activity department at Parkview Home, Wayland, is seeking donations of small items for its annual peanut auction for the residents, to be held on Wednesday, March 27 at 2 p.m. with John Swartzendruber as the auctioneer.
These items would be “purchased” at the auction with peanuts provided by the activity department. Examples of items are note pads, pens, pencils, crossword puzzle books, jigsaw puzzles, candy (sugar free and regular), pop (sugar free and regular), microwave popcorn, cookies, pies, potato chips, cheese puffs, shampoo, cologne and perfume, hand-held video games, CDs, DVDs, greeting cards, sympathy cards, jewelry or other such items.
Please have items to Parkview Home by Monday, March 25.
If you are interested in assisting a resident with the auction, call Jerilyn Winga or Crystal Chunn at 319-256-2775 to let them know. Assistants must be there by 1:30 p.m. on March 27 to review the items and discuss with the residents what they would like to purchase.
