IW b-ball teams swept at Greenville

GREENVILLE, Ill. — The Iowa Wesleyan basketball teams had a tough night on Wednesday, losing both games against Greenville College.
The women’s team dropped their game, 85-57. The men fell in a shootout, 122-114.
The women lost all four quarters in the game. Greenville led, 37-28, at halftime and pulled away in the second half with a 48-29 advantage.
Hunter Clark scored 12 points to lead the Tigers. Cairece Allen had 10. Josie Zerrusen scored nine points and brought down 12 rebounds. Jaimie Hurd had six points and five assists. LaStella Slack scored six of her own and Ahlia Tai had five.
The men’s team was led by Mitch Drey, who went 14-18 for 34 points in the loss. Steven Soukup had 29 points. C.J. Singletary scored 19 and Brock Butler finished at 11 to give the Tigers four double-digit scorers.
Michael Soukup filled the stat sheet with eight points, nine assists and 13 rebounds. Austin Walker scored eight. Jake Neubauer and Dallas Majors had two points apiece and Elijah Johnson scored one.
The women’s team fell to 8-12 overall and 7-6 in the SLIAC. The men moved to 14-8 and 10-5. The Tigers will host Westminster in a doubleheader on Saturday, Feb. 11, with the women leading things off at 1 p.m.
