IWC Concer Choir to offer concert
The Iowa Wesleyan College Concert Choir, under the direction of Dr. Bradley Miller, will present its 2013 spring tour home concert on Thursday, Feb. 28, at 11 a.m. The concert will be held in the Chapel Auditorium on the Iowa Wesleyan campus. Admission is free.
The concert follows the annual tour. It features a variety of choral music selections, including Morton Laurdisen’s “Sure on this Shining Night,” Ola Gjeilo’s “Northern Lights,” and Paul Manz’s anthem “E’en So, Lord Jesus, Quickly Come.”
The Iowa Wesleyan College Broad Street Connection, a select vocal jazz ensemble, will also perform a number of selections on the program.
Dr. Joel Brown, professor emeritus of piano at Iowa Wesleyan College, will perform solo piano works by Frederic Chopin.
The Concert Choir, one of seven performing ensembles at the college, tours domestically every spring and has toured internationally twice in recent years. The choir is comprised of 40 singers, representing a wide variety of majors offered at the college. Ten of the members are music majors.
