IWC men, women golf at Oskaloosa
The Iowa Wesleyan golf team competed at the Statesmen Shootout in Oskaloosa on Tuesday, where the men finished fifth of seven teams and the women were sixth of six teams.
The men scored 322, led by Michael Neff and Zac Cronkhite, each of whom scored 79 to finish in a tie for 11th as individuals.
Tanner Travis competed as an individual for the Tigers. Travis shot a 78 to tie for 7th overall.
As a team, William Penn won the meet with a score of 295.
On the women’s side, Jessica VanDorin led the Tigers with a score of 96 to tie for 18th overall.
Karla Vietinghoff finished 24th (103), while Katie Myers was 29th (112).
William Penn won the women’s side of the meet as well, with a score of 313.
Mt. Pleasant alum Natalie Booton, competing for William Penn, tied for the runner-up medalist spot with a score of 78. She was just one stroke behind the winner, Demi Coertze of William Penn.
