IWC women’s golf defeats MacMurray
The Iowa Wesleyan College women’s golf team picked up the win against MacMurray College at the MacMurray Dual last week in Jacksonville, Ill.
It was a tight match, but the Tigers’ team score of 432 was enough to top the Highlanders, who tallied 443 strokes.
IWC’s Jessica VanDorin led the purple and white, finishing second overall. She shot an 18-hole score of 95 for runner-up medalist honors.
Katie Myers finished third overall to help lift the Tigers to the win. Myers’ round of 104 was five strokes better than the Highlanders’ next best round.
Karla Vietinghoff (114), Whitney Godden (119) and Lauren Grubb (122) rounded out the Tigers’ play. They finished seventh, eighth, and ninth, respectively.
The Tigers return to action today (Monday) when they travel to St. Louis, Mo., to compete in the Fontbonne Invitational at Forest Park Golf Course.
