James "Jim" Henry Stebbins
James “Jim” Henry Stebbins, 87, Burlington, died Monday, Nov. 25, 2013, at Great River Medical Center, West Burlington.
Funeral services will be on Friday, Nov. 29, at 11 a.m. at St. Luke United Church of Christ, Burlington. Officiant will be the Rev. Mark Schowalter. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. Military rites will be conducted by the United States Navy Veterans Honor Guard.

He was born Nov. 21, 1926, in Oelwein, and was the son of Gerald G. and Hazel I. Behrens Stebbins. On Feb. 11, 1978, he married Carolyn Ross Latty.
He was a 1944 graduate of Oelwein High School and attended college at the University of Nevada and the University of Iowa. He was a Navy veteran of World War II with the rank of Radar Technician Second Class.
He managed a number of data processing operations. He retired from Burlington Medical Center after 13 years as the Manager of Data Processing and was a charter member of the Data Processing Management Association. He was a member of the First Congregational Church in Burlington. He was a member of St. Luke United Church of Christ. He enjoyed traveling and collecting stamps and slot machines.
Survivors include four daughters, Deborah (Mike) Pintar of Burlington, Linda (Robert) Hoover of Mt. Pleasant, Carol (Steven) Hildreth of Hastings, Minn., Susan (Jeff) Haines of Mt. Pleasant; one son, James (Judy) Stebbins of Mt. Pleasant; 13 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one grandson; and his wife, Carolyn.
