Jeff VandenBoom age 32, formerly of Cedar Rapids, died Sunday March 9, 2014 at University Hospital, Iowa City following a sudden illness.
Graveside services will be held 1:00 Thursday afternoon, March 13, 2014 at the Calvary Cemetery, Quincy, Illinois. Fr. Donald Knuffman will officiate at the services. Friends may call from 4 until 7 Wednesday at the Goettsch Funeral Home, 306 East First St. Anamosa. Thoughts, Memories and Condolences may be left atgoettschonline.com. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established.
Surviving is his father, David and special friend Angela Lee of Cedar Rapids, Jeff’s girlfriend, Kim Sullivan of Coggon, His grandparents, Joan and Bernard VandenBoom, Quincy, IL., 3 aunts, Mary (Roger) Hartman, Springfield, Ill, Rita (Greg) Paulus, O’Fallon, MO., Leann (Wayne) Schuerman, Quincy, IL., and several cousins.
Jeffrey David VandenBoom was born December 7, 1981 at Quincy, Illinois. He was the son of David and Carrie Northcutt, VandenBoom. Jeff graduated from the Mount Pleasant Senior High School in 2000. He had worked at Wal-Mart and for the University of Iowa. Jeff was Ducks Unlimited Volunteer, and volunteer at the Coggon Fire Department and had been an Eagle Scout. He loved to fish, trap, and go coon hunting.
